A 21-year-old woman and her 16-year-old boyfriend were accused of killing an older man who solicited the woman for sex, according to police.
According to the initial arrest document, 58-year-old Donald Mucheck solicited Teralyn Campopiano, who went by the name "Nicole" in text messages, for sexual acts at an apartment complex near Colter and 16th streets in Phoenix. The two allegedly argued over payment for the meet-up on the night of July 5, as well as payment for a previous time, the document said.
But around 12:30 a.m. on July 6, Mulcheck was fatally shot. A witness said the teen who was with Campopiano shot him, according to court records. The witness also identified the teen as Campopiano's boyfriend.
The teen's name was not released, but
he was booked into a juvenile detention facility, Phoenix Police spokesperson Sgt. John Buchanan said.
Details of what led up to the shooting were not yet released.
Campopiano was booked into jail on a $500,000 bond after being arrested on Aug. 3. She faced one charge of second-degree murder, a Class 1 felony. According to court records, she was previously arrested on suspicion of prostitution.
