Mesa police arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with a shooting during a firearm sale in a Bass Pro Shops parking lot, police spokesperson Detective Robert Katz said.
The shooting occurred just after 1 p.m. Sept. 24 near Dobson Road and Loop 202, near the Bass Pro Shops, Katz said in an emailed statement.
Katz described the incident as a firearm sale that went wrong but did not say who fired or describe the boy’s role in the transaction.
The boy, whose name was not released, was booked on offenses that included armed robbery, aggravated robbery and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Katz said.
An adult woman hospitalized with an apparent gunshot wound was identified as a second suspect, according to Katz. She remained hospitalized Sept.
26, and charges against her were pending, Katz said.
No one else was reported injured by gunfire, Katz said. The investigation remained open.
