Several weekend freeway closures are planned in metro Phoenix as the Arizona Department of Transportation continues to work on improvement projects.
"Drivers should allow extra travel time and use detour routes as needed for these weekend freeway restrictions" ADOT said in an advisory.
ADOT also reminded drivers that the weekend freeway restriction schedule was subject to change due to weather or other factors.

Here are the scheduled closures for Oct. 2-5.
Westbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway)
What: Closure
When: From 10 p.m. Oct. 2 to 5 a.m. Oct. 5
Where: Between 51st and 75th avenues
Why: Widening project
Detour: Consider using westbound Union Hills Drive to 75th
Avenue to connect with Loop 101.
Notes: Westbound Loop 101 on-ramps closed at 27th and 35th avenues. Northbound and southbound Interstate 17 ramps to westbound Loop 101 closed.
Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway)
What: Closure
When: From 10 p.m. Oct. 2 to 5 a.m. Oct. 5
Where: Between Arizona Avenue and Loop 101 (Price Freeway)
Why: Pavement improvement project
Detour: Consider using Pecos or Germann roads to travel beyond the closure.
Notes: Westbound Loop 202 ramps to Loop 101 closed. Westbound Loop 202 on-ramps closed at Gilbert, Cooper and McQueen roads.
Northbound State Route 51
What: Closure
When: From 9 p.m. Oct. 2 to 5 a.m. Oct. 5
Where: Between Interstate 10 and Indian School Road
Why: Pavement improvement project
Detour: Consider using 16th, 24th or 32nd streets to Indian School Road to reach State Route 51.
Southbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway)
What: Narrowed to one or two lanes
When: From 8 p.m. Oct. 2 to 5 a.m. Oct. 5
Where: Between McKellips Road and Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway)
Why: Pavement maintenance
Notes: Eastbound Loop 202 ramps to north- and southbound Loop 101 closed from 8 p.m. Oct. 2 through 10 a.m. Oct. 3.
Westbound Loop 303
What: Closure
When: From 10 p.m. Oct. 2 to 5 a.m. Oct. 5
Where: Between I-17 and 43rd Avenue
Why: Bridge construction
Detour: Consider using northbound I-17 frontage road to Dove Valley Road to 43rd Avenue to connect with Loop 303.
Southbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway)
What: Narrowed to two lanes
When: From 10 p.m. Oct. 2 to 5 a.m. Oct. 5
Where: Between Princess Drive/Pima Road to Shea Boulevard
Why: Pavement improvement project
Detour: Follow posted signs or use next available ramp.
Notes: Expect intermittent ramp closures at times. Consecutive on- and off-ramps will not be closed at the same time.
State Route 347
What: Narrowed to one lane
When: From 10 p.m. Oct. 2 to 5 a.m. Oct. 5
Where: Between Casa Blanca Road and Mammoth Way
Why: For paving
