Metro Phoenix residents should prepare for lengthy weekend travel times on Valley freeways as the Arizona Department of Transportation announced closures and lane restrictions for multiple improvement projects.
Whether you are planning to celebrate downtown at the Phoenix Pride Festival or have fun at the Arizona State Fair in central Phoenix, "drivers should allow extra travel time and use detour routes as needed for these weekend freeway restrictions," ADOT stated in a media advisory.
With rainy weather forecast for the weekend in metro Phoenix, ADOT also reminded drivers that the schedules for closures and lane restrictions are subject to change due to weather or other factors.
As always, real-time highway conditions are available on ADOT's
Arizona Traveler Information site at AZ511.gov, the az511 app or by calling 511.
