Fear Farm decided to shake things up for 2025 and move from its longtime home in Glendale to a new lot in Scottsdale.
While it looks like they plan to stay put for a while, they have added a new guest experience featuring one very recognizable, hockey-mask-wearing villain.
Yes, Jason Voorhees has made his way from Crystal Lake to Fear Farm in Scottsdale for the 2026 Halloween season with the new Jason Universe: Survive the Night experience.
I went to check out this new haunt to see what all the fuss was about; here's what you need to know before you go.
What is Fear Farm in Arizona?
Fear Farm is more than just a haunted house. The event sits on a giant plot of land in Scottsdale that houses four different themed haunted houses. For 2026, that's Jason Universe: Survive the Night,
Beyond the Veil, Mr. Tasty's Funhouse and The Siren's Wake. It also features the Field of Fear corn maze, Phobia Sensory Overload experiences, Deadshot Alley, where you can shoot zombies with gellyballs and even carnival rides like Zero Gravity and the Zipper.
Fear Farm also offers up plenty of classic food options to indulge in, like corn dogs and funnel cakes, and they have a huge seating area where you can sit and recoup before heading to the next activity. Just watch out for the scare actors who are roaming around looking to catch you unaware!
Is Fear Farms' Jason Universe Experience worth it?
The big, new shiny experience at Fear Farm for 2026 is the Jason Universe: Survive the Night experience, which puts guests face to face with everyone's favorite hockey-mask-wearing killer.
Jason Universe is one of Fear Farm's four main attractions for this Halloween season and is included in the general admission ticket price, so you don't have to pay extra to experience it. You just have to have the guts to go through the haunt itself.
While waiting in a not-surprisingly long line Saturday night, very few screams could be heard. That's always been one of my favorite indicators of how scary a haunted attraction is going to be. If there are consistent screams escaping from behind those thin plywood walls, then you know you're in for a good time. While a stray scream could be heard while waiting my turn, I wasn't expecting much before heading inside to witness it myself.
As I wound my way through the Jason Universe experience, I found the set pieces to be well done and perfectly creepy; there were plenty of fake dead bodies and fake bloody body parts scattered throughout. The actors placed around all the dark corners and hiding spaces provided several good jump scares. You get a sneak peek at Jason as he's stabbing a girl to death in one scene before you head to a series of mazes that, as you wind your way around each and every dark turn, the anticipation slowly builds, which is great.
Honestly, I think the biggest issue I had with the experience was that there was a severe lack of Jason throughout the entire haunt. Despite the lack of Jason, I found the entire experience a really fun time overall. If one haunt isn't your cup of tea, one of the three others you get to experience might be. All in all, it was a good time on the Fear Farm.
