A portion of the medical examiner's report about the death of social media influencer and Chandler resident Emilie Kiser's son was released some 15 months after the 3-year-old drowned in a pool.
Trigg Kiser's cause of death was ruled a brain injury due to drowning with the manner of death ruled an accident, according to the report completed May 21, 2025, by the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner. The specific fatal injury Trigg suffered, according to the report, was an anoxic brain injury, which occurs when the brain loses oxygen supply.
Police reported Trigg died May 18, 2025, upon being found six days earlier in the family's backyard pool at the Kiser home located in the area of Chandler Heights and Cooper roads. When Trigg drowned,
his father, Brady Kiser, was watching over the boy and a younger brother, newborn Theodore, while wife Emilie Kiser was away.
Trigg, whose father knew he was outside, was in the pool for seven minutes before being found, according to a police report. The boy was outside by himself for a total of nine minutes and had fallen into the pool after tripping over an inflatable chair, the report added.
The Maricopa County Attorney's Office decided July 25, 2025, not to pursue prosecution, citing "no reasonable likelihood of conviction." Chandler police recommended felony child abuse charges on July 15, 2025, against Brady Kiser.
The first page of the medical examiner's report was initially released Aug. 25. Krystal Wilson, staff supervisor of the medical examiner's office, told The Arizona Republic that other related records were sealed by a court order. Shortly after Trigg died, the medical examiner's office removed the summary of his death from its website. Emilie Kiser filed a lawsuit days after Trigg's death to keep records on the incident from being released.
As of Aug. 26, Emilie Kiser had 5.1 million followers on TikTok and 2.1 million on Instagram, where, on July 3, she announced she was pregnant.
