The FTC is returning money to millions of consumers this month through refund programs involving several companies, including Avast and Walmart.
Nearly 2.5 million customers across the programs were expected to receive their payments in the coming days after several companies agreed to the refunds to settle the FTC’s lawsuits against them.
The companies expected to issue refunds in October were Walmart, Avast, AdvoCare, Cleo AI and GOAT.
The FTC sued each company for different reasons. Customers should have already received a notification from the FTC, and the payments were expected to go out via check or PayPal.
Here’s everything you need to know about the FTC refund programs and how to accept the money if you are owed a share of the settlements.
