A 29-year-old man was arrested Aug. 5 in connection to a multi-vehicle crash last month in Palm Beach Gardens that killed one person.
Akash Das, of Palm Beach Gardens, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on one count of vehicular homicide.
Police investigators allege that he drove at excessive speeds shortly before 9 a.m. on July 9 when his vehicle collided with an Audi sedan at the intersection of Central Boulevard and Victoria Falls Boulevard.
According to a police statement, Das was traveling at 100 mph in a 45 mph zone before ending up in a traffic crash that involved four vehicles. The Audi's driver was taken to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Police identified the Audi driver as
an adult male, but did not disclose any other identifying information.
Investigators say the crash is still under investigation.
Palm Beach County court records did not indicate when Das will make his first appearance before a judge.
