The 7-figure sale of a charming century-old house is closing soon in the El Cid neighborhood, a trending neighborhood said to offer privacy and luxury without compromising the sake of big city living.
The three-bedroom home at 308 Barcelona in West Palm Beach,
features numerous amenities wrapped in Spanish and Mediterranean architecture, said Greg Forest, the Realtor at Serhant who handled the sale.Built in 1924, the home offers style with modernization such as a carport and a backyard pool. It includes a guest house, a side procession patio, a fully renovated kitchen with the centerpiece being a copper clad hood over the stove.
It also has a private front gate leading to a eye-catching arched front entrance draped in greenery. Its future residents,
who Forest did not identify, have access to the day dock in El Cid where they can park their boats.
Forest said the house drew four offers in just five showings.
The asking price was $5.79 million but Forest said will close well over that figure, pointing to the rising appeal of the neighborhood sandwiched to the north by West Palm Beach's downtown and to the south by the popular south of Southern Boulevard community known as SoSo.

Home sale in historic neighborhood drawing buyer interest
According to Forest, the historic El Cid neighborhood has been attracting buyers for a number of reasons.
The community offers residents walkability, curb appeal, close distance to the waterfront and a classy vibe.
"It's such a unique thing that within three minutes you can be anywhere. You can be on Palm Beach, you could be at the airport, you can be at a coffee shop," he said. "It's great that you can be in the backyard and not even think that you're next to a city."
