Stop and smell the flowers at the Armory

Find beauty in the natural world through "In the Flowers," a new exhibition by artist Hayley Sheldon at the Armory Art Center. Using color, shape and repetition, Sheldon draws inspiration from plants, flowers and landscapes connected to different periods of her life to explore the ways joy and sorrow, beauty and grief can exist side by side.

Celebrate the final weekend of August with two days of family fun during SummerFest at Mounts Botanical Garden. Explore the garden while enjoying a petting zoo, arts and crafts, face painting, water activities and live entertainment, with a special Saturday evening concert featuring the Latin rhythms of Flavio Amador & The Playtime Band.

Get creative with materials that might otherwise go to waste during Upcycle Day at Resource Depot. Spend the day experimenting with printmaking, collage, book arts and mixed-media projects at drop-in maker stations, while discovering new ways to transform discarded paper, textiles and found objects into original works of art.
