Pop princess Ariana Grande gave her final performance of the Eternal Sunshine tour and is officially on a break.
The 33-year-old pop star, actress and Boca Raton native announced she would step out of the public eye after finishing her tour, a representative for Grande said in a statement to USA TODAY on Aug. 2. The tour’s final performance was on Sept. 1 in London.
During the concert, she expressed gratitude to her fans and called the tour one of the “most beautiful, extraordinary experiences" of her life, according to ABC News.
"I'll cherish this experience always. I have the best fans in the entire world, and I always have," she said. "Thank you for all of your effort and continuing to make this so special. I have loved every minute of this with
you all."
Grande is also reportedly healing from an injury. She made a social media post on Monday, Aug. 31, telling her fans that she is recovering from a cut and couldn’t wear her signature high heels on stage, according to media reports.
“My sweet petals, I wanted to let you know I will need to be in cozy footwear for this evening’s show (and possibly tomorrow’s) as I am bandaged up underneath, recovering from a minor injury,” Grande wrote in the post on Instagram stories. “It is not a sprain or anything muscular but just a deep cut!
“So when you see me tonight without my signature heels, or even possibly having a little trouble putting weight on that foot, that is why! But please do not fret. On with the show and I am on the mend!”

“Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour," reads the statement from her representative. "She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.
"This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much.”
Grande also addressed her decision to step back from public view during a concert in Chicago on Aug. 3.
"The announcement that was made yesterday was not a reactive or impulsive thing," she said. "It is something that I have decided, it's a plan that I have quietly made, a long time ago, and it's a decision that was made from a thoughtful and empowered place."
Grande will also step away from her role in the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim's "Sunday in the Park with George”, which was set for next summer, according to media reports. Over the past year, Grande starred in a second “Wicked” film, toured for the first time in six years, released an eighth album and ended a three-year relationship.

Grande's private life has recently made headlines. And for years, people have taken to social media to speculate about her health based on her appearance. Grande has spoken out in the past about these types of comments.
"Commenting on others' looks, appearance, what they think is going on behind the scenes or health, or how they present themselves – from what you're wearing to your body, to your face, to your everything – there’s a comfortability that people have commenting on that I think is really dangerous," she said in a December 2024 interview. "I think it's dangerous for all parties involved."
Grande has also touched on the topic in her music. She sings “Don’t comment on my body” on her hit song “yes, and?”

Boca Raton is Grande’s hometown.
In previous interviews, Grande drew attention to the places in the city that shaped her childhood. She said she misses the local beaches, shopping at Town Center at Boca Raton and watching movies at the Cinemark.
In 2024, she flew back home for one day to take her beloved Marjorie "Nonna" Grande to see "Wicked" at that theater.
She was asked how to spend the perfect afternoon in Boca Raton during her appearance on the hot-sauce interview show "Hot Ones.” She mentioned a family-fun center: "Boomers! Underrated, you can't overrate Boomers. It's Boomers!"
