Time for a little team golf competition between the best of the United States and the best from around the world. No, not for the Ryder Cup, but for the Presidents Cup.
The two golf tournaments take place every other year, but both feature similar formats and a common premise. Two captains — in this case, Brandt Snedeker for the U.S. and Geoff Ogilvy for the International team — build a team of the top golf stars from the PGA Tour and build a fresh lineup each day for a new style of play. One points goes to the pair or player that wins, and the team with the most points after four days claims the trophy.
The U.S. has owned this tournament with 13 wins in 15 tries. They have FedEx Cup champion Scottie Scheffler on their side, as well as six others
in the top 11 of the World Golf Ranking. The highest-ranked players on the International side is Si Woo Kim (No. 13) and Ryan Fox (No. 25).

Where is Presidents Cup 2026?
The Presidents Cup comes for the first time to Medinah County Club, about 25 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. Founded in 1924, the course hosted the Ryder Cup in 2012, three U.S. Opens (1949, 1975 and 1990) and two PGA Championships (1999 and 2006). Course No. 3 is Medinah's championship course, measuring 7,564 yards as a par-72.
Presidents Cup history
The U.S. has dominated the Presidents Cup throughout its 32-year history, going 13-1-1 and winning 10 in a row. The 2024 event at Royal Montreal was an 18.5-11.5 victory with the U.S. taking the lead on Day 3 and never relenting through the final day of singles play. The last time the U.S. did not win was when the two sides tied 17-17 in 2003 in South Africa.
