Most restaurants begin with months of construction. This one arrived by crane.
Before serving its first sliders in Palm Beach County, Smalls Sliders made an entrance. On Sept. 4, a crane lowered the chain's signature bright-orange container onto a site along Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach.
The fast-growing burger brandis built around what it calls "Cans," compact modular restaurants manufactured off-site and delivered ready for installation.
According to the company, a Can can go from truck to fully assembled restaurant in about 27 minutes.
Since launching in 2019, Smalls Sliders has grown from a single container-based burger stand into a chain with more than 200 locations open or in development.

The concept traces its roots to Louisiana restaurateur
Brandon Landry, founder of Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux.
The unconventional design has become part of the brand's identity. Rather than marking new locations with traditional groundbreakings, the company celebrates a "Can Drop," turning a construction milestone into a public event.
For a chain known for sliders, waffle fries and shakes, the building itself may be the biggest conversation starter.
