Two men died Sunday morning after a high-speed crash at the intersection of Jog and Woolbright roads near Boynton Beach.
A spokesperson for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said George Edward Armas, 43, sped his GMC Sierra pickup north on Jog as Mark Alan Resnick, 78, drove his Audi A6 west on Woolbright. They met in the intersection at 6:45 a.m.
Deputies say Armas struck the driver's side of the Audi, spinning the sedan nearly 90 degrees. The pickup ramped over the Audi, rolled over and came to rest in the southbound lanes of Jog. Paramedics pronounced both drivers dead at the scene.
Armas, of Loxahatchee, was not wearing a seat belt. Investigators say he might have been under the influence of either drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
He was two weeks away from his 44th birthday.
Resnick, of Boynton Beach, was wearing a seat belt and driving sober, according to the sheriff's report.
