Florida high school football Super 10 polls: Columbia retains top spot

For just the second time this season, the No. 1 teams in the USA TODAY Florida Network Super 10 football poll are the same for consecutive weeks.

Columbus (Class 6A), St. Thomas Aquinas

(Class 5A), Columbia (Class 4A), Miami Central (Class 3A), Chaminade-Madonna (Class 2A) and Carrollwood Day (Class 1A) are their top team in their respective classes. All except for Columbia and Miami Central were unanimous selections.

Undefeated Columbia received 11 of 13 possible first-place votes in Class 4A. Lakes Wales and American Heritage each received one first-place vote.

Miami Central picked up 10 first-place votes in Class 3A, with undefeated Raines getting the other three.

For the

second time in three weeks, two No. 1 teams will meet.

Columbus and Miami Central will play for the Greater Miami Athletic Conference championship in Week 9. The previous matchup of No. 1 teams was a thriller, with St. Thomas Aquinas rallying to beat Chaminade-Madonna 21-20.
