MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins edge rusher Chop Robinson revealed his latest concussion was the fifth of his playing career and he plans to begin wearing a Guardian Cap in games to help prevent future injuries.
Robinson completed another workout Thursday (Sept. 24) and has been cleared from the NFL’s concussion protocol, meaning he’ll be available for Sunday’s home opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Robinson said he was injured during a midweek practice, which caused him to miss last weekend’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He called the injury the result of “just a football hit.”
Robinson said he suffered two concussions in college before sustaining two last season and now another for a total of five.

“Just for me personally, I’m starting with a Guardian Cap, so I’m being smart about it,” he said. “I want a future and have kids and have a family and everything. So, I’ll just put the Guardian Cap (on). There’s no harm in wearing it, so I might as well put it on.”
