The Palm Beach Post with sponsor Baptist Health Orthopedic Care is proud to honor local high school sports programs with our "Team of the Month" poll series. This will be a monthly feature on Palm Beach County high school teams that rise above the rest.
At the beginning of each month during the high school competitive seasons, The Post will select the teams that stood out the month before for their stellar achievements, grit, and sportsmanship. Once we compile the list, we will leave it up to you to decide which squads deserve to be named The Post's "Team of the Month" sponsored by Baptist Health Orthopedic Care.
For August, the Berean Christian girls volleyball team won our inaugural poll with 81 percent of the vote. Berean Christian has raced
to a 5-0 start while winning 15 of its first 18 sets, climbing to No. 21 in Florida in the latest MaxPreps rankings.
The Bulldogs were led offensively by senior Emma Gard and sophomore Briana Downs, who have combined for 123 kills. Senior setter Gabby Estrella orchestrated the attack, while head coach Doug Walters guided the program to one of the strongest starts in Palm Beach County.
