Winners of the 35th Athena Leadership Awards will be announced Friday, Sept. 18 at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach.
The Athena Awards, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County, recognizes individuals who demonstrate professional excellence, community service and a commitment to helping women achieve their leadership potential.
There are three categories of awards: overall, young professionals and organizational leadership.
Athena Leadership Award finalists
The Athena Leadership Award is presented to individuals who have achieved a high level of professional excellence, contributed to the community and actively assisted others, particularly women, in realizing their leadership potential. This year's finalists are:
- Dana Herst, Nicklaus Children's
- Jenny Azcuy, South Florida PBS
- Shenetria Moore, Shas Community Initiatives, Inc.
- Stephanie Glavin Deltondo, Bank of America
- Suzanne Dombrowski, Chen Moore
Athena Young Professional Leadership Award finalists
The Athena Young Professional
Leadership Award was established to honor emerging leaders under the age of 40. Recipients of this award demonstrate excellence, creativity and initiative in their profession. They also contribute to the community and serve as role models for young women. The finalists for this award are:
- Danielle Coffaro, Lessing's Hospitality Group
- Imani Williams, Speak Up For Kids
- Jasmine Govan Edmonds, Florida Power & Light Company
- Kim Kerry, Gunster
- Stephania Linares, Junior League of the Palm Beaches
Athena Organizational Leadership Award finalists
The Athena Organizational Leadership Award recognizes businesses or organizations that create a culture encouraging women employees to achieve their full leadership potential. These organizations also give back to the community by supporting leadership development opportunities for women and girls. The finalists for this award are:
- CouTOURe Club
- ESPN West Palm | Good Karma Sports
- The SBS Agency
The awards are unique in their scope, recognizing leaders at the local, national and international levels.
The Athena Leadership Award was inspired by the Greek goddess Athena, known for her strength, courage, wisdom and enlightenment.
