U.S. News recently released its rankings of the best national universities, and several Florida colleges are among the top 100.
The publication's rankings are a "comparison of more than 1,700 colleges and universities using up to 17 measures of academic quality and graduate success," including graduation rates, first-year retention rates and earnings by major. Where Florida universities ranked on the U.S. News list of Best National Universities
The University of Florida tied for 34th, with an out-of-state tuition of $34,616 and an in-state tuition of $6,436, according to the U.S. News rankings. It had 37,283 undergraduates enrolled in the fall of 2025.
The University of Miami tied for 55th, with a tuition of $68,374, according to the report. It had 13,241 undergraduates enrolled in the fall of 2025. Florida State University tied for 59th, with an out-of-state tuition of $25,702, an in-state tuition of $6,517 and 34,271 undergraduates enrolled in the fall of 2025.
Florida International University and the University of South Florida both tied for rank 100. Florida International University had an out-of-state tuition of $20,204, an in-state tuition of $6,566 and 46,249 undergraduates in the fall of 2025. The University of South Florida had an out-of-state tuition of $18,416, an in-state tuition of $6,410 and 39,093 undergraduate students enrolled in the fall of 2025.
