GARDENS — Miami Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley met with reporters a day after the 35-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, dropping the team to 0-2.

Highlights:

On receiver Caleb Douglas (ankle): Too early to tell on if he might play Sunday. We'll see how that goes.
Edge Chop Robinson has made progress in concussion protocol. "He's exactly where we though he'd be right now."
RB Jaylen Wright (stinger) is day to day. They'll see how he does Wednesday.

On punter Bradley Pinion: "He's never dropped a ball like that before and I'm sure he won't do it again."
On RT Austin Jackson: He went against Maxx Crosby and Nick Bosa, two of the better pass rushers in the league, and the Dolphins could have helped Jackson more. "He's had some good moments and some moments just like the rest of us."
Hafley says when you turn on the tape, you see an element of toughness that "jumps off the tape, and that's really important to me." Hafley says the team is playing just as hard at the end of the game as the start.
Hafley said the run defense was "cleaned up" vs. the 49ers.
On Malik Willis: "There's moments when the ball's out on time, he's been able to extend plays. He's accurate. ... It's the consistency level right now (that needs work). Those are things early in the year, that a lot of quarterbacks are working on right now."
On whether coaches are considering lineup changes: "I'd be lying to you if I didn't say there were those conversations."
On the issues in the secondary vs. the 49ers: Communication was the problem. "We had some busts I haven't seen, haven't seen in camp, and we need to communicate more. ... Clearly that was the biggest issue yesterday."
On the penalties: Some are lack of focus, some involves a player getting beat and grabbing him. "Every time we crossed the 40-yard line yesterday, we were put in tough situations." Hafley added, "It's not an excuse. Not anymore. We're in Week 3."
Hafley said he had "a great one-on-one talk" with veteran receiver Jalen Tolbert, who has been inactive the first two weeks. "His time will come. I have a great admiration and appreciation for how he's handled it."
