Are you one of the nearly 5.3 million Floridians who receive Social Security benefits? Depending on your birthday, you could see the next round of payments arriving on Sept. 16.
Wednesday's checks will go to recipients born between the 11th and 20th of any month. It's the second wave of Social Security benefits scheduled for September.
Social Security beneficiaries born between the first and 10th were paid Sept. 9, while recipients born between the 21st and 31st should budget for payments to arrive Sept. 23.

Who gets their Social Security payment this week?
Most Social Security recipients receive benefits according to their birth date:
- Sept. 9: Birth dates from the 1st through the 10th
- Sept. 16: Birth dates from the 11th through the 20th
- Sept. 23: Birth dates from the 21st through the 31st
When are Social Security payments sent?
Social Security benefits, mostly paid to recipients who are older or retired, are typically paid on Wednesdays.
However, if you began receiving
Social Security before May 1997, you can expect payments on the third day of each month, unless it lands on a weekend or holiday.

SSI payment schedule for the rest of 2026
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a program to help people with limited or no income or resources, people aged 65 or older, and people who are blind or have a qualifying disability. Those benefits typically arrive on the first business day of the month, unless it falls on a weekend or holiday. The payment for September was sent on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Here are the dates for SSI payments for 2026, according to the SSA calendar:
- Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026 (Check for October 2026)
- Friday, Oct. 30, 2026 (Check for November 2026)
- Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2026 (Check for December 2026)
- Friday, Dec. 31, 2026 (Check for January 2027)
What to do if a payment is missing
Florida has 52 Social Security offices. Beneficiaries can find the nearest location through the Social Security office locator at ssa.gov/locator.
Didn't get your electronic payment on the scheduled pay date? First, check your bank in case there was a processing delay.
If a payment is still missing, late, or you think it was stolen, call the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) or reach out to a local office.
