Windward Risk Managers names new chief accounting officer
Windward Risk Managers recently announced the promotion of Cindy Murphy to chief accounting officer. Murphy has been a key member of the organization's finance leadership team for more than two decades. Since joining the company as corporate controller in 2005, she has helped guide the financial operations supporting
Florida Peninsula Insurance Company, Edison Insurance Company, and Ovation Home Insurance Exchange through periods of growth, market change, and operational expansion. She was promoted to vice president of finance in 2021 and later to senior vice president of finance, where she oversaw financial accounting, reporting, planning, treasury, and regulatory reporting activities. Windward Risk Managers is the management company behind Florida Peninsula Insurance Company, Edison Insurance Company, and Ovation Home Insurance Exchange.

Women’s Red Apple Foundation names new board members
The Women’s Red Apple Foundation of Palm Beach County recently announced the appointment of three new board members including the Lake Worth Beach Vice Mayor Mimi May, associate dean for academic affairs at Keiser University Neisha Mitchell and assistant dean of student services at Palm Beach State College Natacha Nettles. The foundation stands as a resource for educational equity in our county, supporting women from diverse backgrounds—including high school graduates, adult learners returning after an education gap, and previousscholarship recipients continuing their academic journeys. Since its inception in 2003, the foundation has awarded over $634,600 in scholarships and 19 laptops to 387 women in Palm Beach County.



PBAU professor, alums earn Fulbright Awards
Three individuals from Palm Beach Atlantic University have earned Fulbright Awards and will serve as cultural ambassadors for the U.S. during the 2026-2027 academic year. David Escobar Arcay, associate professor of theological studies and director of Latino church studies, received a Fulbright Research Grant to begin studies in January 2027 at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain. PBA alum Mason Chaikin, who earned a business economics degree, won an ETA (English Teaching Associate) to the country of Kosovo. There, he will teach university students at the National Library of Kosovo. Rebecca Nacy, a 2025 alum with a degree in biology, is renewing her Fulbright ETA after a year abroad in Spain. The Fulbright ETA program places U.S. citizens in classrooms abroad to help local English teachers while serving as cultural ambassadors for the U.S.


4Ever Young early franchisee expands
Dina Shehadeh, one of 4Ever Young’s earliest franchisees, has grown from opening her first location in Jupiter to operating three locations across Palm Beach and Broward counties. Shehadeh has a background in health administration and built her career around healthcare and entrepreneurship, with her Jupiter location named 4Ever Young’s top-performing location nationwide in 2025. 4Ever Young, Anti-Aging Solutions, is clinic designed to help clients live their best lives through health, wellness and aesthetics.

Center for Child Counseling president, CEO receives award
Renée Layman, president and CEO of Center for Child Counseling, has been named the Non-Profit Woman of Worth by the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce. The annual Women of Worth Awards celebrate women whose leadership, service, and vision create lasting change in the community. The 2026 ceremony was held on Aug. 27 at The Belgrove Resort & Spa. Under Layman’s leadership since 2013, the center has shifted from a crisis-response organization to a prevention-first, trauma-informed leader in children’s mental health. Today, the center serves more than 7,500 children annually, with education and prevention programs reaching thousands of families, educators, and professionals across Palm Beach County and beyond.

Litigation attorney joins Legal Aid Society
Lynn E. Sharon, esq., an experienced litigation attorney has joined the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County as an employment discrimination attorney. She has litigated significant cases involving employment contracts, non-compete agreements, civil rights cases and employment discrimination matters, with successful outcomes on behalf of employees. The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County provides high-quality civil legal services to low-income and vulnerable residents of Palm Beach County. Through legal representation, advocacy, and community partnerships, the organization works to ensure equal access to justice for all.

Tequesta Restaurant Group acquires two properties
The recently formed Tequesta Restaurant Group, LLC, founded by Gary Haseley, Dan Reedy, Bob Bailey and Ken Kennerly, has acquired two longtime Tequesta establishments including Local’s Pub and The Salty Zebra. The group plans to invest in the two establishments while maintaining their connection to the Tequesta community.
