A Palm Beach County sandwich shop just earned a place on a new USA TODAY's roundup spotlighting the nation's most memorable sandwiches.
Buccan Sandwich Shop's beef carpaccio sandwich is among the newspaper's "best sandwiches in America" that are "worth a road trip (or a detour)."
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis concurs.
In February, he devoured his then declared, "Out of all the cold sandwiches I've had in Florida... I would rank this number one."
The Palm Beach-based business is the county's only restaurant included in the nationwide collection of regional specialties, deli favorites and chef-driven creations.
According to USA TODAY, the beef carpaccio sandwich is often the menu item that transforms first-time visitors into regulars.
Served on a crusty
baguette, it layers thinly sliced raw beef with arugula, Parmesan, crispy and balsamic onions, mayonnaise and lemon vinaigrette.

A Palm Beach success story
In 2015, Buccan Sandwich Shop began in Palm Beach as a casual offshoot of chef Clay Conley's Michelin-recommended restaurant Buccan.
Since then, the concept expanded beyond the island and now operates three Florida locations.
