Six resorts and hotels in Palm Beach provide “exceptional” and “very special” stays loaded with charm and top-notch service, according to hospitality ratings in the recently released 2026 Michelin Guide.
The venerable Breakers Palm Beach resort and the newer Veneta Hotel earned the second-highest designation — two keys — in the global Michelin rankings, which designate deserving hotels and resorts with one to three old-fashioned-style hotel-key symbols.
The other four hotels on the island received a one-key designation.
In terms of denoting levels of quality, service and singularity, Michelin’s hotel-key designations are similar to the stars Michelin awards to restaurants at other times of year.
Independent, anonymous inspectors evaluate hotels
annually, considering such criteria as excellence in architecture and interior design; quality and consistency of service; overall personality and character; and value for the price.
While three hotel keys is the highest honor, most properties in the world aren’t rated at all because Michelin standards are high, experts say.
Having announced its 2026 key designees in September after inspectors made their visits and evaluations, Michelin deemed The Breakers, the oceanfront resort at 1 S. County Road, worthy of the two-keys ranking.
That honor denotes “an exceptional stay (at) a hotel that's unique in every way … (and) run with obvious pride and considerable care,” as Michelin describes it.
“We are honored to receive Michelin’s two key distinction and to be included among this esteemed collection of properties,” Sara Flight, The Breakers’ director of communications, told the Palm Beach Daily News.
“This achievement reflects our commitment to exceptional hospitality, guided by devoted family ownership, a culture focused on team-member fulfillment and guest satisfaction, and a long-term vision for excellence. Through continued investments, … thoughtful enhancements across the guest experience and initiatives that benefit our community and environment, we remain dedicated to preserving and enriching The Breakers for future generations.”
Flight added that the resort is “grateful to our team, club members and guests, whose loyalty, trust and support inspire us to continuously evolve and excel.”
That The Vineta, a Palm Beach boutique hotel, also received a two-key rating is considered remarkable.
That’s because the property, 363 Cocoanut Row, opened in February of this year after an extensive renovation in the landmarked building that formerly housed The Chesterfield Hotel.

“I am incredibly proud of our team,” The Vineta’s managing partner, Emanuela Setterberg Di Vivo, told the Daily News. “This recognition reflects the genuine care, dedication and attention to detail our team brings to The Vineta every day. We are deeply grateful to the people of Palm Beach for welcoming us so warmly and embracing The Vineta from the very beginning.”
She also praised the hotel’s owners, London-based Reuben Brothers and Germany-based Oetker Hotels, which manages The Vineta.
“None of this would have been possible without the love, passion and support of the Reuben family and the Oetker Hotels team. So many people have put their hearts into this project and we are overjoyed to see that dedication recognized.”
The quartet of Palm Beach hotels that earned Michelin's one-key designations are the oceanfront Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach, 2800 S. Ocean Blvd.; The Colony Hotel, 155 Hammon Ave.; Palm House, 160 Royal Palm Way; and The White Elephant, 280 Sunset Ave.
That ranking denotes “a very special stay, a true gem (where) service always goes the extra mile and the hotel provides more than others in its price range.”
This year is the third in which Florida hotels have been part of the Michelin Guide’s key-symbol ratings for United States properties.
