McDonald’s has launched its first energy drink.
The fast-food chain, which has plenty of locations across Palm Beach County, started selling a Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer beverage nationwide on Monday, Aug. 17. The drink is made with Red Bull energy drink, blue raspberry syrup and freeze-dried dragonfruit.
The drink has 80 milligrams of caffeine, which is the same amount in an 8.4-ounce can of Red Bull, or slightly less than in a conventional cup of coffee. The fast-food giant tested the drink at select markets and in Australia before bringing it to the U.S.
Customers can modify the beverage by substituting in Red Bull Zero or give up the syrup and dragonfruit altogether by ordering an 8.4-ounce can of Red Bull at participating McDonald’s restaurants,
according to a news release.

"We've seen growing enthusiasm for our crafted sodas and refreshers as fans look for more variety and options to fit every occasion," wrote Alyssa Buetikofer, chief marketing and customer experience officer for McDonald's USA, in a prepared statement.
"They loved the Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer when we first tested it in the U.S., so we're excited to give fans nationwide the energy they've been craving with Red Bull. And we're just getting started."
