JetBlue now offers daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport (BAQ) in Barranquilla, Colombia.
President Donald J. Trump International Airport in West Palm Beach does not offer direct flights to anywhere in South America.
Barranquilla joins Medellín and Cartagena in JetBlue’s Colombian network, with service to Cali (CLO) set to launch later in October, the airline announced Oct. 1.
“Fort Lauderdale continues to grow as an important connecting gateway for JetBlue, connecting customers from Barranquilla not only to South Florida but also to destinations across JetBlue’s broader network across the U.S and beyond," said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president, revenue,
network and enterprise planning, JetBlue. "This new service builds on our long history of serving Colombia while giving customers traveling to visit family and friends, for business or leisure the competitive fares and award-winning experience they expect from JetBlue.”
Barranquilla, on Colombia's Caribbean coast, is a hub for business, culture and tourism and home to the world-renowned Carnaval de Barranquilla, one of Colombia’s most celebrated traditions.
Flights between Fort Lauderdale and Barranquilla will operate on JetBlue’s Airbus A320 aircraft, featuring free onboard Wi‑Fi, seatback entertainment with live TV at every seat and complimentary snacks and drinks.
The daily flight from Fort Lauderdale to Barranquilla is at 11:05 a.m., arriving in Colombia at 12:55 p.m. The daily flight from Colombia to Fort Lauderdale is at 2:05 p.m., arriving at 5:56 p.m.
