you've shown the world why the press is so important. You've prodded the County Commission into acknowledging that something has to be done about the Ric Bradshaw PBSO, its lack of transparency in submitting its budget and the poor oversight and, in doing so, have made the public aware of some of the issues. For far too many years, Bradshaw has behaved as though the PBSO were his personal fiefdom. He's considered himself accountable to no one. If not for your articles, we, the taxpayers, whose money pay the bills that come due in the county, would have been ignorant of this charade. It's a shame but Bradshaw's behavior gives the supporters of Amendment 3 a real issue despite all the hoopla about the loss of local services.

Government spending has a new target
Approaching Election Day, the volume of pro- and anti-Amendment 3 advertising will only increase. The folks who are worried about the reduction in essential services should it pass have a valid concern. But, when one reads about the excess pay and bonuses going to senior and retired employees of the [Palm Beach County] Sheriff’s Office, and their retirement plans that are so much more generous than those of the people they serve (and who pay for it), it’s no wonder that a lot of people are saying “enough is enough.”

Joe Biden wasn't this bad
I don't understand why Democrats don't tout how good ― and normal ― things were during the Biden presidency. No ICE, intelligent people running the government, no grift, no wars, no despicable self-aggrandisement, the list goes on and on. The answer to the question "are you better off today than under Biden and the Democrats?" is a resounding no, and this should be played up, but I don't see it happening.

Trump's on the wrong side of Ukraine war
President Trump tells Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to stop attacks on Russian diesel refineries because it’s creating a worldwide shortage of diesel fuel. Well, this would be a pretty nice gift to Russian President [Vladimir] Putin’s economy. Maybe since Trump is no longer giving any support to Ukraine he shouldn’t advise Ukraine on what military operations it conducts in its war with Russia. Maybe Trump should think about the origin and who is responsible for the shortage of diesel fuel and the high price of gas around the world since February 28, 2026. He should consider more and more crippling sanctions on Russia in order to end the war in Ukraine and then the diesel shortage problem would take care of itself. But, we all know Trump and Putin have a special relationship, and how would Trump and his cronies profit in the future if the Russian economy suffers from increased sanctions?
