MIAMI GARDENS ― MIAMI GARDENS ― The Miami Dolphins held their sixth training camp practice under first-year coach Jeff Hafley at the Baptist Health Training Complex on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
The Dolphins will
rest for one day and then have three more practices, capped by a practice at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 8.

CB Alex Austin
The Dolphins are in desperate need of developmental cornerbacks.
Austin intercepted Quinn Ewers in practice 6. And at the moment, we project Austin as making the roster.
Austin, 6-foot-1, 191 pounds, was a 7th-round pick of the Bills, from Oregon State. He has decent size and routinely competes for the ball.
Austin, 25, has 29 games played, including 26 with the Patriots.
DL Matthew Butler
Matthew Butler had a sack and several run stops in the middle of Miami's defensive line.
Butler is the quintessential roster bubble guy. Training camp and preseason games will be so important for him as he attempts to impress coach Jeff Hafley and coordinator Sean Duggan.
It's too easy to forget that Butler actually played 12 games for Miami in 2025.
Butler, 6-foot-3, 305 pounds, is a 27-year-old who played at Tennessee.

It was an up-and-down day for Miami quarterbacks Malik Willis and Quinn Ewers. But this wasn't as good as the previous two practices for the offense.
Zayne Anderson intercepted Malik Willis in the end zone.
Later, Zayne Anderson dropped a potential interception.

Ewers had a slow start to camp in his rookie season and improved. The Dolphins will be hoping to see a similar upward curve as this camp progresses.
You could argue that Miami's offense and defense going back and forth in practice is a positive.
Perhaps both sides will be decent. Or perhaps both sides won't be.
