President Donald Trump has won yet another golf title at one of his many courses, adding another title to his name.
The president participated in the annual "caddies' day" tournament during the Aug. 21 weekend at Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor, New York, about 50 miles north of Trump Tower. The competition has members of the club team up with their caddies to play 18 holes.
Trump's recent win comes on the heel of another victory which he claimed at his club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Trump was honored at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster. A video posted Aug. 2 shows Trump receiving a trophy for winning the "super senior" and "senior division" after supposedly shooting a 70 (par is 72 at the club's two courses).
Trump, 80, then
bragged about his victory on social media, attaching a video.
"The Winning Shot in the Bedminster Club Championship! Thank you very much to all of those who participated. I won with a score of 70, and am so honored in that, unlike the rest of the field, I’m given very little time to practice, because I’m focused on many other things. It’s called TALENT, and I have it, and they don’t!"
Trump, who some have alleged is a cheater on the golf course, now says he has won at least 40 club championships.
As Trump was being handed the trophy, one fan could be heard saying on the video, "The president of the United States. The super senior and the senior, he won both. He won both. That's amazing. Best president of my lifetime."
Trump, winning his own tournaments a tradition
Trump claiming to win his own tournament has become a tradition.
Three years ago, he declared he won a club championship when he didn't play the first round. According to reports, Trump told tournament organizers he played a strong round two days before the tournament started and decided that would count as his Saturday score for the club championship.
Later that year, Trump posted he won the Senior Club Championship at his club in Bedminster with a round of 67. That same month, LIV Golf held an event at the same course and of the 144 rounds, only six LIV golfers shot 67 or lower.
In recounting that victory, Trump wrote online: "For some reason, I am just a good golfer/athlete — I have won many Club Championships, and it is always a great honor!"
He also once wrote: "You need strength and stamina to WIN, & I have strength & stamina — most others don’t. You also need strength & stamina to GOVERN!”
A year ago, he boasted of adding two more championships to his long list, saying on social media he won not only the Club Championship but also the Senior Club Championship at his course near West Palm Beach.
On that night, he was awarded the 2024 Trump International Golf Club Most Improved Player at the banquet. The award was presented by PGA Tour great Jack Nicklaus.
In January, a photo of the scores of the 11 contestants in the Senior Club Championship at his course near West Palm Beach appeared on Instagram, showing Trump 4 shots ahead of the field. Those scores were posted at the course.
Yet, nobody claims to have witnessed Trump play, and it was reported nobody knew he had played in the tournament "until his name was spotted atop of the leaderboard."
And according to reports, when Trump's name appeared at the top "it caused surprise among attendees and followers of the event."
Trump did not confirm or dispute the claim.
Trump owns 16 golf courses around the world. Two of his courses in the United States are in Palm Beach County, including one in Jupiter.
