Artisans of Wine & Food is built around the idea you shouldn't have to.

Returning Jan. 14-17, 2027 to The Boca Raton resort for its third year, the four-day gathering brings more than 100 wineries, vintners and acclaimed chefs to one waterfront property for exceptional eating, memorable pours and a good cause.

Organizers call it the world's largest gathering of Napa Valley vintners outside California, but numbers tell only part of the story. In a region crowded with culinary events, Artisans feels luxurious and genuinely fun.

Saturday's tasting is reason enough to go

At last year's Artisans event, I bumped into Tim and Jenny Lipman of the Michelin-recommended Coolinary.

For many, the grand tastings are the heart of the weekend. Last year's gave guests a chance to wander at their own pace, sample wines, talk with winery representatives

and discover new favorites from around the world.

The food was every bit as compelling as the wine. Local restaurants helped make the afternoon feel distinctly South Florida.

Participants included Coolinary, Gallaghers Steakhouse, Mia Rosebud, Al Fresco at Par 3, the restaurant at Palm Beach's public golf course, along with and others.

At Artisans last event, I met Gallaghers' GM Michael Amore under the tasting tent.

The combination of hometown restaurants, visiting chefs and sought-after wineries appealed to casual wine drinkers and devoted collectors alike.

The Discover Napa Valley Tasting Pavilion returns with more than 100 wineries pouring across the resort's Grand and Alhambra lawns.

The tasting experience expands this year with a new European Wine Tasting Pavilion on Jan. 17, curated by Zachys, featuring more than 100 wines from producers in Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Italy and beyond.

Together, the two tastings showcase both renowned European estates and leading Napa Valley producers.

A chef lineup worth traveling for

The wines may draw the headlines, but the culinary roster is equally notable.

Featured chefs include Hugo Souchet of three-Michelin-starred Les Pres d'Eugenie, television personality Jet Tila, David Burke and two-time James Beard Award winner Gavin Kaysen, who is behind the acclaimed Minneapolis restaurants Spoon and Stable and Demi.

For Palm Beach County residents, Burke's participation adds a local connection. The chef behind SeaHawk Prime and The Birdie on Lake Park's waterfront headlines Saturday's Vintners Gala Dinner & Auction, where guests will share a family-style meal paired with Napa Valley wines poured by vintners seated throughout the room.

A storied setting more than a century in the making

The Boca Raton, formerly The Boca Raton Resort & Club, scrubbed pink from its facade in 2022.

The venue is a major part of the attraction. The Boca Raton originally opened in 1926 as The Ritz-Carlton Cloister Inn.

Over the past century, the Mediterranean Revival landmark has evolved into one of Florida's most recognizable resorts while preserving the character that made it famous.

A recent $375 million multi-year transformation refreshed the property without erasing its history.

For locals, it is also a rare chance to experience the property without booking a room or belonging to its club.

More than a luxury weekend

Let's address the obvious: Artisans of Wine & Food is not inexpensive.

Proceeds from the Vintners Gala Dinner & Auction benefit Selfless Love Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving outcomes for children in foster care and young adults aging out of the system.

According to organizers, the Foundation has helped more than 750 children find adoptive families and provided housing for more than 700 transitioning into adulthood.

Expensive? Certainly.

But for those willing to splurge, Artisans of Wine & Food offers something increasingly rare: the chance to enjoy world-class wine, exceptional food, a landmark resort and meaningful charitable giving all in one place.
