A wildfire has burned over 4,000 acres in Palm Beach County, according to the Florida Forest Service.
The H1 Fire, located in the Holey Land Wildlife Management Area, had burned 4,500 acres and was 75% contained as of Aug. 18 at 2:27 p.m.
Meanwhile, in Miami-Dade County, the Radio Tower Fire had burned 700 acres and was 95% contained as of Aug. 18 at 1:57 p.m., the forest service reported. The Trail Fire, which burned 25 acres, was 80% contained as of Aug. 14 at 8:05 a.m.
Since the beginning of the year, 49,242 fires have burned more than 7.2 million acres nationwide, according to the National Interagency Fire Center. In Florida alone, more than 2,800 wildfires have started since January, cumulatively burning over 190,000 acres.

According to an outlook by the National Interagency Fire Center, which "identifies areas by month for the next four months with above, below, and near normal significant fire potential," South Florida will see "above" normal significant wildland fire potential in August.
