Employees of a pizza chain in West Palm Beach say a man walked into the store, presented a fake Immigration and Customs Enforcement ID badge and threatened to "take everyone."
"Don't play me like a fool," Wilfido Darinel Bamaca Garcia said, according to his arrest report.
Little Caesars employees said the Lake Worth Beach man entered the store, on South Dixie Highway south of Southern Boulevard, at about 9 p.m. Oct. 20 and asked for someone named Alex. Told there was no one there by that name, Garcia grew annoyed and fished out his wallet, then flashed the fake ICE ID.
Employees, unconvinced, called 911 to report an "unwanted guest." Garcia left before West Palm Beach police officers arrived, though they soon found him in a silver Dodge sedan nearby.
As Garcia searched through his wallet for his driver’s license, officers said they saw what appeared to be FBI and ICE identification cards, each marked “Special Agent.”
They arrested Garcia on two counts of falsely impersonating an officer, along with driving with a suspended license. Florida Highway Patrol cited him in 2020 for carrying a fake Florida ID card, though prosecutors chose not to pursue charges.
Garcia, 37, does not yet have an attorney listed and did not respond to a request for comment. If convicted of impersonating an officer, he faces up to five years in prison.
