When the next pandemic comes, who will
be willing to face jail by developing a vaccine? No two humans − except possibly, identical twins − are physiologically the same. Having said that, it seems logical all humans would not react to a vaccine the same. Dr Anthony Fauci made a mistake when he said the vaccine will prevent COVID-19, which turned out to not be the reality. What did happen was, if infected, the effects were reduced, saving untold lives. Some scientists advocate herd immunity. The native Americans had never been exposed to diseases brought by Europeans. So, the tribes in some cases were wiped out by smallpox while some who were infected survived. Do we really want to try that again?

National Guardsman got off light
After reading the article about the National Guard officer in Washington, D.C. who created fake divorce papers in order to bring his Mongolian girlfriend and her daughter to the United States and marry her, I have a lot of questions. Besides having to return the $54,000 in unauthorized government funds, why isn't there an additional fine? Why is the estimated prison sentence only 10 to 16 months when he was basically trafficking them into this country? These crimes were committed using government computers and access to government agencies that normal people would not have. These crimes demand a lengthy sentence, and although this "wife and her child" were innocent dupes in his crime, are they being deported? They need to be treated the exact same way the country is treating innocent people who are being swept up and deported, those who are here under legal protected status.

Trump's enduring legacy
Donald Trump snuck out of Turkey after a NATO “summit “ meeting two weeks ago because of fears that Iranians might be gunning for him. The scenario to get the president safely back to America is right out of a fictional spy novel ― except it is real. The White House’s explanation: “There are many enemies who have their sights on him.” No matter what comes out in the final two and a half years of his presidency, Trump will live each day in retirement with that knowledge. He will be surrounded by secure walls and armed guards who will watch and wait for an attack upon a man that Iran’s current leadership sees only as the murderous villain responsible for the deaths of innocent children, civilians, the spiritual leader of their country and the decimation of Iranian cities and towns.
Will Republicans retain control of Congress or will enough Democrats, one hopes, prevail so that Congress can and will reclaim its authority to check a madman executive at the helm of a dispute, that could and should have been resolved by diplomats. But, Trump, unlike Obama, used only loyal amateurs. Their ineptitude gave Trump, who thinks he is a hammer and everyone else is a nail, the excuse to bomb Iran into submission. His expensive miscalculation exploded into a life-and-death war fiasco that thus far an incompetent and dishonest administration is incapable of ending.
