Do you like Tom Hanks? Do you also like space exploration? Well, South Florida PBS has just the show for you at its complex in Boynton Beach.
Starting on Thursday, Sept. 24, and running until March 30 of next year, local space enthusiasts can immerse themselves in "The Moonwalkers" a 360-degree experience "that transports you from the historic Apollo missions to the future of NASA's Artemis program," according to the South Florida PBS website.
The shows take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday and is said to last about 90 minutes, which includes the movie and interactive exhibits.
It is suitable for all ages with tickets going for $45 and children's tickets going for $22, with individual price differences for students, military and big
groups.
South Florida PBS said it wants the experience to reach people from all walks of life. It even has invited those suffering financial hardships to email the studio in they're interested in the show.
"Your journey begins with the exclusive Making the Moonwalkers pre-show inside the breathtaking immersive dome, where Tom Hanks and the creative team reveal how cutting-edge technology, cinematic storytelling, and authentic NASA archives were brought together to create this extraordinary production," the website says.
"From there, step into the story itself: witness the thunderous launch of the Saturn V rocket, the historic Moon landing, and the iconic first steps on the lunar surface through stunning restored NASA imagery and immersive sound that unfold all around you."
South Florida PBS is at 3401 S. Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach, about a mile south of Woolbright Road, and parking is free. Tickets can be found at https://www.southfloridapbs.org/moonwalkers/.
