JetBlue’s new first class flights are coming to West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.
Travelers can now book the airline’s BlueFirst first class on more than 30 routes, according to an Oct. 15 press release. Limited-time promotional fares are $249 for one-way flights.
BlueFirst will debut on a flight connecting Boston and Fort Lauderdale on Dec. 8. The first class service will then expand to flights between Fort Lauderdale and New York’s LaGuardia airport and more routes after that.
From West Palm Beach, BlueFirst will be available to New York’s LaGuardia airport starting in January, to Westchester County, New York, starting in March and to Boston starting in April, according to the release. First class seats on flights connecting Fort Lauderdale
and 19 cities will start to roll out in December.
“We designed BlueFirst to deliver a more accessible first-class experience that combines the thoughtful hospitality and service customers expect from JetBlue with exceptional value and comfort. We're excited that customers can now start making BlueFirst part of their travel plans,” wrote Joanna Geraghty, JetBlue’s chief executive officer, in a prepared statement.
“This is just the beginning. As we bring BlueFirst to more aircraft, customers will see it become available on routes and in markets across our network, giving them even more opportunities to choose an elevated JetBlue experience.”
What does JetBlue’s first class include?

The first class service will feature more space, 13.3-inch seatback screens, premium snacks, a meal on flights 899 miles or longer, specialty drinks and priority perks including group one boarding, dedicated overhead bin space, priority check-in, baggage benefits and expedited security access at participating airports.
The BlueFirst seats are designed with Tuft & Needle T&N Flex foam, five inches of recline and up to seven inches of additional legroom compared with JetBlue’s main seats, the release said.
First class passengers can choose from Sommelier-selected wines from Parcelle, coffee from Cometeer and Joe Coffee and Smith Teamaker teas. Seatback ordering will also have “Mixologist Mode,” which allows passengers to customize cocktails.
JetBlue expects to offer BlueFirst on flights where Mint — the airline’s existing premium service with lie-flat seats and other perks — is not offered, the release said.

Each BlueFirst ticket includes one carry-on bag, one personal item, group one boarding, priority check-in and security access at select airports. BlueFirst and BlueFirst Flex tickets include two checked bags, free advance seat selection and no change or cancellation fees.
BlueFirst Flex also includes refunds if the flight is cancelled before the departure and no fees for same-day switches or same-day standby, the release said.
JetBlue is expanding in South Florida

JetBlue recently announced a host of new nonstop destinations at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. JetBlue is the airport’s leading carrier, especially after its competitor Spirit Airlines shut down in May. JetBlue offers some routes formerly covered by Spirit.
JetBlue is the second-leading airline at President Donald J. Trump International Airport — formerly Palm Beach International Airport — in West Palm Beach, according to its August traffic report.
That month, it carried more than 76,700 passengers from West Palm Beach to destinations such as New York, Boston and Washington, D.C.
