The controversial relationship between White House employee Natalie Harp and President Donald Trump is again under scrutiny following comments from Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff.
“He doesn’t want to do the job,” Ossoff said of Trump at a campaign rally on Sunday. “He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.”
When asked about Ossoff's comments by CNN, Trump compared Ossoff to Pee-wee Herman and said that he would “much rather do other things." White House officials have condemned both Ossoff and reporters for comments surrounding Harp, with communications director Steven Cheung writing on X: “Instead of denigrating hard working people serving their country, Jon should
look deep into his soul and ask himself why he's a miserable person who hates this country.”
Harp's estranged brother, Preston, also appeared on CNN to discuss the speculation and conversation surrounding Trump's aide. He said his sister has an "unhealthy obsession" with the president.
"I think that Trump's best friends are people who are his fan club, and so she's his biggest fan, and that's probably why he likes her," Preston said on CNN. "And like she's good-looking. She's got a good personality."
All this talk about Harp, but what exactly is her role at the White House? Here's what to know and why people are looking into her connection with Trump.
Who is Natalie Harp? What is her role in the White House?

Natalie Harp, 34, is the executive assistant to Trump, 80, and a former television presenter for the One American Network. Her nickname from the Trump administration is the "human printer" because she followed Trump around with a portable printer and a battery pack to provide him with information in printouts.
According to Vanity Fair, Harp is a 2012 Point Loma Nazarene University graduate and a 2015 Liberty University MBA who recovered from bone cancer because of Trump’s “Right to Try” law. She has spoken at numerous rallies during Trump's 2024 reelection campaign.
Harp is also allegedly behind some of Trump's most controversial social media posts, having access to and posting from his Truth Social account. Some of the controversies include the photo depicting Trump as Jesus and the AI-generated video which featured the Obamas as racist, ape-like figures.
Before her official job as executive assistant, she also worked as an assistant to Trump at the Save America Super PAC and as a research advisor and assistant to Trump at the Donald J. Trump for President 2024 Super PAC.
How long has Natalie Harp worked with Trump?
According to First Post, Harp has been working for Trump since around 2022.
Why are people looking into Natalie Harp's relationship with Trump?
Harp has made headlines over the past year over her loyalty and overall relationship with the president.
Their relationship first came to light in the 2025 book "All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America" by Michael Wolff. He reported that, amid her duties, Harp would write "eyebrow-raising" personal notes to the president.
"In this pile of papers, she also frequently includes personal notes to him, and notes that, you know, [say] 'You're the alpha and the omega,' 'The be-all and end-all,' 'What would I be without you?'" Wolff said.
Vanity Fair reported in 2025 that sources from the Trump administration expressed "bewilderment and concern" at Harp's letters. They said they had tried to create distance between the president and Harp, but it did not last.
A biography of Trump from earlier this summer, New York Times journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan's "Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump," last week, doubles down on Harp's letters to Trump and how uncomfortable it made other staff members. They wrote that Trump calls her “Nathalie,” adopting a French pronunciation, and would say that she was the “only one who loved him as much as his wife and kids."
“Harp was generally on a chair off to the side, her laptop open, head cocked, listening but never contributing unless ordered to by Trump,” Haberman and Swan wrote. “She fulfilled, in a flash, any request, whether a ‘Trump 2028’ that needed to be fetched from the merchandise room, a quick Google search, or producing the latest story from right-wing websites like Breitbart or Gateway Pundit.”
