Donalds' TV attack ad's nonsensical
It is the season for political ads on television. Lately, they have been telling us what is bad about the other guy rather than telling us what they will do for us and why we should vote for them. They are peddling fear instead of hope. In a recent ad, I heard that I shouldn't vote for [Democrat] David Jolly because he wants to tax tips, Social Security, and overtime. I would really like to know how would he do that? Florida doesn’t have an income tax. How would he know your income, let alone if it came from tips, social security, or from your overtime pay. Knowledge is power. Question what you hear and see, then vote for who will make your life better.

Remember Labor Day's significance
While Americans celebrate a long weekend, attend parades,
go to picnics, host bar-b-ques, listen to political candidates and take advantage of Labor Day sales, the true meaning of the holiday is often lost. Once upon a time in America, working families knew the value of unions and politicians either respected their power or feared it. Labor unions not only fought for their members but for all workers. Labor is credited with eliminating child labor, shortening the work week, overtime pay, minimum wage laws, pensions, health care coverage, garnering support for and passage of both Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid, work place safety regulations...the list goes on.
In the years since President Reagan dismantled the air traffic controllers' union, labor unions have been increasingly under attack. The super majority in Florida politics has done its best to bring back child labor, deny healthcare, allow wage theft and a myriad of other abuses to working families. This Labor Day honor the sacrifices of working people. Instead of listening to candidates who want to deprive workers of their rights, listen to the ones who support working families.

Re the Aug. 21 "Best Sandwiches in Palm Beach County:" Note to The Palm Beach Post. I ain’t paying $27 for a sandwich no matter how good it is.

There are reasons to dislike ICE
The staggering number of ICE arrests are highly reminiscent of 1930's Germany. One of the more outrageous ICE-capades was the agent who shot a man in Minnesota and was then reassigned to Texas. The agent fired through the front door of an occupied house wounding the resident and hitting the wall in a child's bedroom. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has refused to extradite the agent back to Minnesota, and in fact, just released him from custody. All good reasons why so many people seek the demise of ICE.
