Students in the Palm Beach County School District are coming up on a three-day weekend.
Monday, Oct. 12, is a fall holiday, the first day off for students since Labor Day on Sept. 7.
Oct. 12 this year is Columbus Day, which some also refer to as Indigenous Peoples Day. The district calendar does not refer to either name and only notes that there is no school for students on that day.
The next day off for students is Election Day, which falls on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Eight days later, students are out again for Veterans Day, which is on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
The week-long Thanksgiving break begins on Monday, Nov. 23.
The second nine weeks ends on Friday, Dec. 18, and the winter break begins on Monday, Dec. 21 and runs through Monday, Jan. 4, 2027.
The third
nine weeks begins on Jan. 5, 2027. Students are out again on Monday, Jan. 18, for the federal Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
Monday, Feb. 15, is another school holiday, and students are out during a spring holiday on Wednesday, March 10, nine days before the end of the third nine weeks.
Spring break begins on Monday, March 22 and runs through Monday, March 29, with the fourth nine weeks beginning the next day. The last day of school is Thursday, May 27.
