Children receiving care at a hospital in West Palm Beach lit up with joy when they noticed superheroes cleaning their windows.
Two window cleaners dressed as Spider-Man on Tuesday, Sept. 8, to brighten the day for children at Palm Beach Children’s Hospital at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach. The window cleaners also gave coloring pages, pencils, toys, stuffed animals, action figures and crayons to the kids.
“It has a profound impact on the kids, who just want to be a kid,” wrote Andrew Lofholm, communications and community relations manager with the Palm Beach Health Network, in an email to The Palm Beach Post.
“We know it's never ideal for a child or anyone for that matter, to spend a night away from home, so we try to do as much
as we can on top of the care, to make them feel like they are at home and to put a smile on their faces and take their mind off of their health, even for a second.”
Window cleaning company SkyTech Solutions J&C, pressure washing company Salty's Seaside Home and Property and the hospital’s Child Life department organized the superhero window cleaning.
The hospital hopes to do superhero window cleanings twice a year going forward.
