Michael Jordan’s club and restaurant 1000 North was such a slam dunk in Jupiter, the GOAT of basketball is planning on opening another Florida location, but that one has hit a snag.
Michael Jordan is a founding partner and co-owner of 1000 North, an exclusive private club and restaurant at 1000 U.S. 1 in Jupiter. Jordan holds a significant stake in the club, but it is co-owned and backed by a large group of high-profile partners and investors.
The plan is for another 1000 North (this one called 1000 North Sarasota) to open in Sarasota by October in the city's Rosemary District downtown. It is one of Sarasota’s most anticipated restaurant openings but it has hit a delay amid parking issues, questions about ownership and concerns from nearby residents.
Jordan, who lives in Palm Beach County, is one of many GOATS in the area, including golf GOATS Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, hockey GOAT Wayne Gretzky, tennis GOAT Serena Williams, boxing GOAT Mike Tyson and USA team soccer GOAT Christian Pulisic.
Jordan teamed up with other celebrities to co-own the exclusive members-only club and restaurant 1000 North. Because of its success on Florida's east coast, the former Chicago Bulls champion and Hall of Famer is opening a second on Florida's west coast.
The 1000 North Sarasota website says:
"Tucked into the heart of Sarasota’s cultural corridor, 1000 North Sarasota is a members-only club that blends culinary artistry with legacy hospitality.
"Modeled after our iconic Jupiter flagship — founded by Michael Jordan, Ernie Els, and other tastemakers — our Sarasota location brings that same elevated spirit to the Boulevard of the Arts."

"Developer Ira Fenton and former New York Giant Tucker Frederickson, who were part of the team that developed The Bear’s Club and The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa, Jupiter (now Trump National Golf Club, Jupiter), came up with the idea," the 1000 North website says. 1000 North Jupiter opened in 2018.
Some of the other partners and notable names listed on the 1000 North website include a lot of big sports names who live in the area, such as tennis GOAT Serena Williams and pro golfers Dustin Johnson, whose wife Paulina is the daughter of Wayne Gretsky, Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas, all who have homes in Jupiter.

Here is the address and map of Michael Jordan’s new 1000 North Club, 520 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, Florida. The venue will boast just over 23,000 square feet of space after recently closing on an adjacent property.
According to previous Sarasota Herald-Tribune reporting, the two-level space will include private dining rooms, a dedicated wine lounge, members' wine and liquor lockers and an upstairs lounge. The menu will feature prime steaks, seafood and seasonal ingredients, complemented by curated wine selections.
Where is Michael Jordan's private golf club in Florida?
Michael Jordan is also the principal owner of The Grove XXIII, a private golf course in Hobe Sound just north of the Palm Beach County border. The "XXIII" portion of the name is a nod to Jordan's former jersey number, 23, when he played for the Chicago Bulls. The ultra-exclusive golf club is also invite-only, with fewer than 100 members.
The golf course was created by Bobby Weed, a well-known golf course architect who has designed a mix of private golf clubs and PGA Tour tournament venues.
