One of Palm Beach County's top rising football prospects added another major Power Four offer to his growing recruiting profile.
Cardinal Newman junior safety Kahlil Gabaud announced on social media that he received a scholarship offer from Alabama, giving the four-star defensive back one of the most notable offers of his recruitment to date.
Gabaud, a Class of 2028 prospect rated four stars by 247Sports, now holds 18 offers, including Florida State, Notre Dame, Louisville, Missouri and NC State.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound safety emerged as one of South Florida's top young defenders during Cardinal Newman's run to the FHSAA Class 1A state championship last season. As a sophomore, he totaled 51 tackles and six interceptions while helping lead the Crusaders
to their first football state title.
Cardinal Newman opens its state title defense Friday when Community School of Naples visits West Palm Beach for the regular-season opener.
