A little fluffy white dog from Boca Raton might win her family $100,000.
The 5-pound, 3-year-old maltese named Woobie is one of five finalists in Purina Dog Chow’s “Giving You 100” contest, which gives a $100,000 prize to the winner.
Purina’s judges chose Woobie as a finalist among nearly 1,200 entries featuring other dogs. She scored the highest in the “most entertaining” category.
Woobie is the only finalist from Florida.
“At just 5-ish pounds, this natural-born performer lights up life with her enormous personality, which is shaped by her love of butt scratches –– and her fear of practically everything,” reads Woobie’s description on the Purina website. “Whether she’s ferociously guarding the door or greeting strangers with a bark that sounds
like ‘bruh,’ Woobie fills every moment of every day with laughter.”
The winning pup will be the one who receives the most votes on the myPurina app and high scores from the judges. Voting runs through Aug. 21. All five finalists receive a one-year supply of Purina Dog Chow, according to Purina's website.
What is Woobie’s story?
Woobie’s owners are mother and son Debbie Faloon and Chase Falcon, who are longtime Boca Raton residents. They got Woobie from a dog breeder in March 2023 when she was just 1 month old.
Woobie makes them laugh every day.
Falcon said he entered the contest on a whim, hoping Woobie’s spunky personality would bring a smile to other people’s faces, too.

“Winning would mean that people across the country saw what our family has always seen in Woobie — a tiny dog with an enormous personality who brings so much joy into our lives,” Falcon wrote in an email to The Palm Beach Post.
“Of course, the $100,000 prize would be life-changing for me, but seeing our friends, neighbors and the Boca community rally behind her has already made this experience unforgettable.
"If Woobie won, it would become one of those family stories we would tell forever."
