The Palm Beach Zoo is giving City of West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County employees free admission from August 17 through 23.
Employees must show proof of employment with either an employee ID or recent pay stub. They can bring up to three guests for a 50% discount on each ticket.
The zoo, which originally opened in 1961 as a small red barn and farm animal exhibit in Dreher Park, holds various events throughout the year including its annual Zoo Lights night every November where more than one million eco-friendly lights shine throughout the park.
In April 2026, the zoo unveiled a new habitat for its koalas, Sydney and Ellin. The renovation took approximately 12 weeks and features an indoor climate-controlled forest with an outdoor area for the koalas to roam
around and get plenty of exercise. Palm Beach Zoo is one of only 12 zoos in the entire country that have koalas.
For the City of West Palm Beach and county employees, the discounted tickets can be purchased at the Palm Beach Zoo front gate.
