GARDENS — Miami Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley met with reporters before Day 6 of training camp.

TE Greg Dulcich should return when the team practices vs. Washington.

- Hafley called Monday's practice "a typical first day in pads," with pad level a bit high. He's confident players will get used to it since that's how they'll play the games.
- What does Hafley look for in cornerbacks other than being able to cover guys? "I don't ever want to stay blocked. If you ever see a corner engaged with a receiver and he stays on the receiver," that won't work for Hafley.
- S Lonnie Johnson Jr. is day to day.
- DL Rene Konga is out for the season. Hafley said Konga had been looking good in practice, "but this will be a redshirt year" for him.
- What's one thing that has pleased Hafley? Overall effort and how hard they're practicing. But he added, "The other stuff? We've got a long way to go."
- Hafley said Malik Washington's "overall route-running" has impressed him.
- Hafley praised DL Zach Sieler as an unselfish player, willing to give up pass-rush opportunities if he knows it'll help free up others to make plays.
- Hafley called offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik "one of the best human beings there is" and said he was high on the list of OC candidates when the Dolphins hired him. "He has a great way to relate to players, be demanding, and he's a great teacher."
