Former Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer topped four rivals in the Republican primary for U.S. House in Florida’s 25th Congressional District.
The district covers parts of Palm Beach and Broward counties. With all precincts reporting, Singer had about 31.4% of the vote, beating out George Moraitis (27.5%), Dan Franzese (25.7%), Joe Kaufman and Raven Harrison.
National Republican Congressional Comittee Chairman Richard Hudson issued a statement that read: "Congratulations to America First patriot Scott Singer! As the Mayor of Boca Raton, Singer voted to cut taxes, balanced budgets, and created jobs. Floridians are fired up to send him to Congress and send Jared Moskowitz, the least effective Democrat in Florida, packing."

Singer said his priorities include providing tax relief for families and businesses, reducing federal spending and regulations, strengthening border security and national security, and promoting government accountability.
He supports expanding tax cuts, banning congressional stock trading, imposing congressional term limits, requiring proof of citizenship for federal elections through the SAVE America Act, and restricting federal funding for educational institutions that receive certain foreign support.
Peter Jassenoff is registered under the Libertarian Party of Florida, and was running unopposed.

Kaufman, 56, of Fort Lauderdale, is chairman and CEO of Kaufman Security, a Shillman Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center, and a writer and researcher who has contributed to FrontPage Magazine and the Middle East Forum.
Kaufman said his priorities are focused on his S.E.A. Plan, which stands for Security, Economic Prosperity and Affordability. He said the plan would expand healthcare options through greater use of Health Savings Accounts, address housing affordability through tax relief for homeowners insurance and allowing first-time homebuyers to use 401(k) funds for down payments, and promote job creation and economic growth. He also supports expanding vocational and technical education programs to help students develop workforce skills and enter high-paying careers.
Moraitis, 55, of Fort Lauderdale, is a real estate attorney, former Florida state representative and former U.S. Navy submarine warfare officer.
