A Florida mom who had just attended a child’s birthday party was observed driving while her daughter, 5, hanging out arear passenger window, police said.
A Pembroke Pines police officer witnessed the child hanging out the vehicle at a stoplight about 10:30 p.m. Sept. 13. The child’s mom, Isabella Fernanda Saenz, 26, was then observed driving while the girl remained with her “upper body” outside the car, according to an arrest report.
An officer conducted a traffic stop, and Saenz said she did not know her daughter was hanging out the rear window as she drove. She told the officer she had a margarita, and it was noted that her eyes were “classy, red and droopy.”

Several field sobriety tests were conducted in which Saenz did not perform well, according
to the arrest report.
A breathalyzer test showed her blood-alcohol content was above the legal limit. Saenz was charged with DUI and child neglect for “failing to supervise her 5-year-old daughter while she operated the vehicle under the influence, resulting in the child being unbelted and exposing her upper body out the rear window, which Isabella failed to notice, which could have resulted in serious physical injury or substantial risk of death to the child.”
She has since bonded out of jail.
