Charlie Woods is set to take another crack at TPC Sawgrass and its iconic Island Green.
Woods, a senior at Benjamin School and son of legendary golfer Tiger Woods, was added to the field as a sponsor's exemption for The Junior Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra from Sept. 3-6. The invitation was first reported by Garry Smits of the Jacksonville Florida Times-Union.
He finished 31st in last year's Junior Players, carding a hole-in-one on hole No. 3 in his final round.
Woods, a Florida State commit, will be looking to recapture some of the form he showed during his breakout 2025 junior campaign, which saw him rise into the top 10 of the American Junior Golf Association's Rolex rankings.
So far in 2026, Woods' best finish in a junior
golf tournament is tied for 19th at the Junior Orange Bowl International Championship in January.
Woods' AJGA ranking has dropped to No. 306 as most of his 2025 performances have aged out of the ranking statistics.
Giuseppe Puebla, Ryan Nana Tanke in the field
Royal Palm Beach's Giuseppe Puebla and Palm Beach Gardens' Ryan Nana Tanke will join Woods as Palm Beach County representatives in the Junior PLAYERS field.
Puebla, a University of Florida commit, is ranked No. 7 in the latest AJGA rankings. He competed in the U.S. Open earlier this year after qualifying in Palm Beach Gardens.
Nana Tanke, an SMU commit, is ranked No. 41 ovearll. He has been one of the county's top risers over the last calendar year thanks to wins at the AJGA Lake Charles Junior Championship in April and a sixth place finish at the Team TaylorMade Invitational in May.
