JUPITER — Three park playgrounds in Jupiter are set to reopen this month after undergoing renovations during the summer.
The town will host separate ribbon-cutting ceremonies, each starting at 4 p.m. The first
will be on Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Jupiter Community Center playground, followed ceremonies on Friday, Oct. 9, at the Heights at Jupiter Park playground and Monday, Oct. 12, at the Abacoa Community Park playground.
The three locations have been closed since early July for renovations that included new shade structures, play equipment for children of different abilities and artificial turf.
The renovations are part of a $6.8 million project approved by the Town Council in 2025 to improve 11 playground sites over a span of five years.
In July, council members approved contracts totaling more than $375,000 for work at Heights Park, Abacoa Park and Jupiter Community Center Park that also included the installation of chain-link fencing, landscaping, irrigation systems and chilled water fountains.

Several of Jupiter's playgrounds are more than 20 years old and were determined to be in need of renovations. Jupiter intends to build a spray ground — also known as a splash pad — at Indian Creek Park off Central Boulevard and designate the facility as its flagship playground.
