See a Kurosawa classic on 16mm film

Experience Akira Kurosawa's "Rashomon" the way few audiences get to see it today: projected from archival 16mm film at Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. The landmark film follows four conflicting accounts of a crime to explore truth, justice and human nature. Special Collections Librarian Katharine Labuda will introduce the screening and the Miami-Dade Public Library System's 16mm film collection.

See the world premiere of "Alba," a new play by Alejandro Rodriguez inspired by Federico García Lorca's "La Casa de Bernarda Alba." Set in working-class Miami, the play follows a strong-willed Cuban matriarch struggling to maintain control of her household as mounting debts, new technology and a suspicious young suitor threaten to expose long-held family secrets.
