The Miami Hurricanes not only took care of business in Week 2 of the 2026 college football season, but they got a little help in moving up in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll.
Not only did the Hurricanes sent Florida A&M packing in a 77-7 win on Sept. 10, but Saturday yielded a pair of upsets helped Miami rise from seventh to No. 5 in the latest rankings, released Sunday.
Texas' late comeback over Ohio State dropped the Buckeyes out of the top spot and behind Miami at No. 6. Meanwhile, Oregon fell at still-unranked Oklahoma State, dropping the Ducks from No. 6 to No. 18.
Miami was one of six teams to garner first-place votes, with two electors picking the Hurricanes first. The Longhorns are the new No. 1, followed by Georgia, Notre Dame and then
Indiana. LSU at No. 7 is the other team to get a first-place vote.
